Youtube:

1. What is this?
Youtube is a webpage where you can watch videos. If you don't have an account, you can watch videos but you can't upload, like, share, etc. You have to create an account so you can have more access to all the things Youtube offers. 
- Account: The first step is to create an account. You will need a username and fill in some information about you.
- Search for Videos: The second step is to search videos. You enter key words, the username, or the of the video in the search tab. Also, you can choose any category you wants and choose a video.

- Playlists: When you find a video that you like you can like it, add it to favorites, or add it to a playlist you created and it will be easier to find. You can create a as many playlists as you like and the good thing is that you can choose the privacy setting (public or private). Another great thing that Youtube has is the "Watch Later" playlist in which you can add videos that you didn't have time to watch. "History" playlist works too if you want to go back to video you already watched. 

- Share/Subscribe: If you like the video, you can also share it to Twitter, Facebook, and other social medias. You can also subscribe to the user that uploaded it and receive notifications of every new upload from this user.  

- Comment/Like and Dislike: You can also comment on the video and like it or dislike it.

- Upload Videos: You can upload your own videos or even record them directly from your phone or computer. In the privacy settings you can determine whether you want your video to be public or private. You can also put a title, a description, and tags to let people know what your video is about. 

- #Views/#Likes: You can see how many people viewed you video because underneath the video it says "# views". You can also see how many people like it and disliked it.

- Rent Movies: There is an option to rent movies. You have to purchase it and then you can watch it in your computer while you are connected to the internet.

- YouTube Mobile: There is an app that you can get for your smart phone and watch videos there. 

- Captions/Subtitles: You can select a setting in which you can watch the videos with subtitle of any language. 

- 3D: You can watch videos in 3D if you own a pair of 3D glasses.

- Recommended for you: Youtube recommends videos and channels to you depending on what you watch and to who you are subscribe to.  

2. What else can Google do for users?

Youtube can improve the time it takes for a video to charge. Also it can change the setting in which you cannot watch some videos if you are in a certain country. That bothers me a lot.  

3. How could this tools be useful to teachers and students?

This tool is useful for teacher because they can find videos as an example of what they are teaching so their students can understand the topic better. Students can use them for projects, and also to understand what the teachers taught them better if they didn't understand in the class.  

4. How does it relate to CNG?

Youtube works for CNG because it can help teachers explain their lessons in interesting videos. Also, it allows students to have a bigger source of information were they can find videos about the topics they learn in their classes and it can help them with their homework instead of having the only option of communicating with the teacher via email.

96% of the students are employed after one year of graduation. RISD hasd a career center were it supports graduates and give them all the resources to make it easier to find a job. RISD will help you create a portfolio that you will use for your job interviews. They also teach you how to handle an interview.
Goal 2:
My mom went to RISD and she graduated with honors. She works in graphic design which is what she studied. I can ask her every question to have the point of view of a student.

The AP courses that you take in High School are accepted as a credit. What I learned:
Today I learned that RISD graduates are more likely to find a job in the area they studied. Also, RISD will help them find a job by giving them a lot of resources. I also learned that AP courses gives you credits in RISD.

RISD and Brown University campuses are very close. Students may cross-register, with no extra cost, so they can take other classes in Brown or RISD according to what they want to learn. Brown offers foreign language, advance science and math, and athletic facilities. Also, you can do the Brown-RISD Dual Degree Program which undergraduates can earn a BFA from RISD and a AB from Brown. You can do this in five years.

RISD has a variety of sports including: basketball, ice hockey, soccer, skiing group, biking and climbing clubs. Students can also get involved in some sports in Brown University like: ultimate Frisbee, tennis, and softball teams. 

What I learned:

I learned about the cost and rate of the places where you could live if you are a RISD student. I also learned that RISD and Brown University are allied so you can make a Brown-RISD Dual Degree Program. You can also take classes in Brown with no extra cost. Another interesting thing was the sports offered by RISD and if you are not satisfied with the sports, you can go to some sports that Brown can offer you. 

One thing that I want to learn for next class:

What I learned:

- White hat hackers are hackers who breaks the security with no harming intentions so they can improve the security.

- The white hat hackers are hired even by banks.

- There are also black hat hackers which are the ones with harmful intentions. 

How the topic connects to my life:

- The topic connects to my life because everything has a good and a bad side but you have to choose one. So it relates because in life, you should probably do the honest thing. It is also a job because you are getting rewarded in a legal way instead of just hacking and probably sell it to the black market.

Design Project day 5

Our project was thrown away.

-What was the biggest problem you encountered? How did you solve it?

Our biggest problem was that the ramp wasn't inclined so the balls couldn't go through the holes. we tried to lower the holes. 

-When did you get your biggest "AH HA" idea? What was it?

Our biggest "AH HA" idea was when we thought of making a way that when you throw the ball, it will come back to you. 

-Who in your group resisted new ideas the most and why?

Laura because she knew how to fix the project by putting tape in the right spots so the project wouldn't fall apart. 

-What doubts did YOU have about the project and how did you overcome those doubts?

We thought that the carton where the holes were was going to fall. Also we though that the balls wouldn't go through the holes. We solved these doubts by making sure that the carton had a better support so we decided to put a stick so it would hold it up. With the balls, we tried to lower the carton and incline a little bit more the ramp. 

-Who in your group played "devil's advocate" (a person who questions everything, even good ideas) and how did that help the process?

Paula because she was questioning a lot if the balls were going to go through the holes and come back to the person. She also questioned if the carton wasn't going to fall. That helped us a lot because it made us worry so we would try to make it better than it was before. 

-What did you learn about yourself, teamwork, and the design process?

Myself: I learned about myself that I am very persistent on  my work and also a little bit perfectionist. 

Teamwork: Sometimes it is better to work in a team because you can listen to other point of views and ideas to make the product better. Also, you have an extra pair of hands so you finish faster and easier. 

Design Project: It is very difficult to design a project because you have it all planned and perfect in your head but when you try to make it, you end up making a different thing because it is more difficult than it seems. 

Design Project Day 2

1. - The model that has the most strengths is Paula's (front view) and my drawing (side view).
- Some details we should include is: The glitter on the skeeball so it attracts girls. The way the ball goes in the holes. And all the decoration.
- We won't take anything away.

The good comments about are project was that it was very challenging and creative. The structure was very well created.
The things we could improve were the holes and the ball so it is more interesting and fun to play.

-Three Things I Liked:

1. It is very easy and clear to make a poll.

2. You have the options to let people vote more than 1 time or only 1 time. I think it is better if they vote only 1 time because then your data will be more exact. 

3. It is very good that the charts are actively updated. Like as soon as someone votes, it is updated. 

-Three Things I Think That Are Drawbacks:

1. It has the option to vote through text message and I think it is a little bit dumb because I doubt that people will waste their phone salary to send a text message so they can vote for a poll.

2. It works only in the USA.

3. You only have one free trial and then you have to buy it.

1. To gather opinions from different people about something specific like for example: what is ice cream flavor do you like the most? And then people will choose the flavor they like the best.

What I learned:

Today I learned that you can change speed, clone, and add green screen effects in imovie. This is a great thing because I usually use imovie to make my video editing. I didn't know that you could do all these things in one single program. I also learned that it is very easy because it is just like inserting videos and customizing them.

I want to learn how to close up the video without zooming the camera while you are filming the video. Also, I want to learn how to mix two images together for transition.
